“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.”

It’s common to struggle with finding balance in life and to identify how to put our own needs first. From expressing concerns, identifying coping skills, enhancing communication, reflecting and processing, accessing resources, or simply realizing that we’re all “perfectly imperfect,” prioritizing wellness is the key towards managing our stress, taking action, and improving our self-esteem.
Whether you’re an adolescent or young adult identifying or clarifying your values and path forward, or a parent navigating relationships, school, and a career, we’re here to help you with perspective and insight, while enhancing your skills for success.
We start with wherever you’re ready to begin, and focus on listening, and forming an empathic, nonjudgmental, and safe environment for you to be heard. Cultivating attunement within the relationship is of utmost importance, which leads to trust and change talk. After gathering information about you to better understand your needs, through collaboration we create a personalized “road map” for how to help. Next, skills-building to relieve distress is prioritized, from learning deep-breathing to journaling to other distraction and self-soothing techniques. Skills development and implementation is integral towards feeling better. Once skills are sufficiently learned and integrated, we’ll explore “what happened,” and “why did I get stuck?” This can include identifying long-standing patterns of behavior and relationships. Finally, we’ll conclude our time together, after mutually determining that the work has reached a comfortable stopping point.
Our clinical approach is trauma-informed, culturally competent, strengths-based, and relational. Informed CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and EMDR are frequently used.
